Inflation reveal
-
Hello,
I have made some inflating text, using a number of tutorials.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ax9GtPLvVIUI have a decent inflation, which moves from top to bottom, but I am trying to think of a way for the text to be revealed.
The majority of the guidance I am following ONLY shows what EJ has done above, I also followed Ellie's tutorial on inflation. The animation I am doing only uses a single character, I am trying to figure out a way for it to look like it is inflating from nothing, like a magical rubber ring inflating out of thin air.
Any ideas would be helpful/. -
Hi tie-version,
The simplest way would be to render a sequence without anything and then overlap that sequence with the inflating object.
The transition from no object to the start of the inflating object can be done in many ways. Perhaps even using a mask produced with the inflating object, like a gradient moving across, or a noise turning from black to white, a mix of those.
The advantage is that you can time the transition later instead of rendering it new. However, any secondary ray the object produces is also part of the transition, such as shadows, reflections, etc.
If you have more details on how that should show up, please share.
All the best

Hi tie-version,
This example has this option but has some limitations, such as shadows.
CV4_2024_drs_24_RSbv_01.c4dI have no idea what you need to have in the scene.

Above is my scene, I have built it based on a cloth sim. I am happy with the inflation, but want to think about how it could reveal.
At the moment, it just inflates from a flat object. I think I want some some of field based reveal that scales the mesh up.
I've tried a few options but they are either problematic or don't look great.
Advice is always welcome. -
Hi tie-version,
The project file has only a link to an Alembic file, while the Alembic file is not provided.
Please share it via DropBox, Adobe, Apple, Google, or Wetransfer; thank you.
Cheers
