Hello 🙂 I'm having some troubles with the vertex maps and don't understand if I'm doing something wrong or or it s a bug. I get this stepping effect when adding a decay modifier on the edge of a growing vertex map. Any idea on why this happens? Thanks a lot
PS: this is 2024.4 but tested in 2023 and the same

          Hi importance-peak,

Is this working better for your project?

The Speed of the growth (Speed), the distance (Radius), and the line width (which was introduced with the Curve) need to agree; otherwise, it creates this "quantized effect" or stepping effect.
I have also set the mesh density so that it produces squares.

Please note the change of hierarchy (Position of the Curve).

          Is that matching your question?

          Cheers

            Hello Dr. Sassi,

Yes, thank you for the explanation. It makes more sense now. I will pay more attention to these parameters.

              You're very welcome, importance-peak,

But keep a copy of the stair-case-effect. It is a nice setup.

              Cheers
