    Hi,

I'm wondering if someone could provide guidance on using X-Particles and Cinema 4D's built-in particle emitter.

I have a stream of particles emitted towards a disc, which has a small circular aperture in the center. I'd like those within the confines of the aperture radius to pass through - this I have achieved, but those that lie outside of the aperture radius to be killed off once they collide with the disc. How can I achieve this?

I've noticed that the XP Kill and Destructor tools only allow particles to be killed within a box or sphere. Is there a way to select a different shaped volume? For instance, I considered placing a tube in front of the aperture so that particles would be destroyed upon entering, but I haven't found a method to do this. Is this something that requires Xpresso? I don't have any experience with Xpresso.

    Thanks!

      Hi ordinary-week,

Here is an example with the Cinema 4D particles.

Inside the particle Collision object is a button called Kill. If enabled, it will kill all particles that collide with objects with a Collider Tag, while the Exclude/Include list of the Collide Object will allow for more definitions of what will happen.

      Please have a look here:

The Tracer is in the scene is only for demoing the set up, it has no other function.

Please check for X-Particles with the Insydium Discord "forum". I haven't installed the plug-in nor renewed my maintenance since the new Particles were in beta, and questions here were close to none over the years about X-Particles; I could not justify the fee out of my pocket with pretty much no one asking here. Sorry. To be clear, I think it is a great and powerful package Insydium has created.
My best guess would be to create a definition of what to kill with Fields, but guessing is not knowing, and I'm not a big fan of this blurry kind of support. Check Discord; you might be up and running in no time.

      All the best
