c4d thumbnail doesn't show on MacOS on a MBP

Hi! Same issue here!
Please could someone share how to solve this?
Mac: Sequoia 15.1.1 (24B91)
C4D: 2024/2025 -
Hi speaker-honey,
Please check with tech support:
https://www.maxon.net/en/support-centerI can't do anything about this, as it seems to be between the MacOS and app sections.
This needs to be cleared on a developer level, perhaps at Apple.I can't see any news so far. Sorry
All the best

Maxon developers need to update some things given that Apple revised the way in which thumbnails are created.

Hi philosophy-chemical,
Thanks for your care. Yes, that is reported since a while and I have no idea why this not fixed. Sorry.
Typically, there is a strong connection between Apple and Maxon. If I have a chance to find someone who is not aware of that, I will make sure this is known.
If you have the impression that the developers need an extra nudge, please use the "Share Your Ideas" option here:
https://www.maxon.net/en/support-centerOr open a Tech Support ticket, which might be the better way. This is the official way to report technical problems and get help if possible.
Cineversity is more of a how-to or creative problem-solving platform; I cannot fix code here. Hence, we have the feature request or tech support option.
Thanks for understanding.
Enjoy your Sunday Evening.

Maxon developers, please address this issue. There have been at least two software updates since it was first reported, yet no fix has been implemented. This ongoing problem is incredibly frustrating.

Hi profit-sign,
As many times mentioned, technical problems that need a developer to change the code are not the focus of this forum. For that, we have tech support.
I get that this is an annoying problem for you. Going by what I see, it is not for many people so far.
The few tickets issued about this are in the system and have not been ignored.Repeating this here is not the place to make more happen. This forum is about asking questions about the functions or looking for creative solutions.
If you like to place any pressure on that, I advise to go the official way, and open a ticket:
https://www.maxon.net/en/support-centerAgain, I understand that this is a feature your workflow relies on. But please use the way designed to report technical problems that can't be solved here.
My best wishes

Hi Dr. Sassi,
Apologies for bringing up technical problems here – it’s my first time using the forum, so I appreciate the clarification.
That said, while it may seem like only a few people have raised tickets, the issue actually affects every user on Sequoia OS. I’d like to think that’s something worth noting.
I also hope this isn’t Maxon’s general stance on professionals working with the latest Mac OS. Surely, keeping things running smoothly for users on current systems is in everyone’s best interest?
Anyway, I’ll make sure to follow the officially designed way of reporting technical problems. Thanks for the guidance!
Best,

Hi profit-sign,
No need to apologize. I understand it is annoying when something isn't working – big or small. Not what I like to have for anyone at all.
I know that the developers and any support specialist do not ignore anything that is on a ticket. Hence, my suggestion is to go that route.
I hope it will be solved anytime soon.
My intention here is clearly to discuss workarounds for problems at any time if there are any. However, I do not want to make people believe it is a good way to upload complaints here and the most proactive way to do it. It is the ticket with tech support. Hence, I ask to create tickets, but after the first time, how often can I repeat that in a single thread without sounding like a chatbot?
If I had a big ego, I would encourage that and show off with the traffic I can produce here. But that would only waste your time, and nothing would be gained. So, I try to direct things to the established and direct options.
My best wishes.

I made a ticket and Maxon recognized this was an issue some months ago.
I'm thankful to you, Dr Sassi for your response (and your help over the years, which has saved me through and through), so this isn't to you.
I write rather to express my frustration that Maxon hasn't resolved such a simple thing, a simple thing that happens to be very important. Maybe my workflow isn't ideal in that I rely on thumbnails of many c4d files I have on my computer... but it's just the way I've operated for many years, I rely on the thumbnails when I'm trying to find a past model. And now this task of finding some file here and there takes about 50 times as much and causes incredible distress and frustration.
I just have a bad taste in my mouth that I pay as much as I do for this software and still have to deal with such issues.

Hi philosophy-chemical,
Thank you for your reply. I'm grateful for your post's professionalism in expressing what needs attention and change.
I can instantly sympathize with this kind of frustration, which might sound like a rubber stamp sentence, but doing that for so long, I had my fair share of those.
Since this is a forum to find out something works or creative solution, perhaps workarounds:
I typically try not to solve something with questions but rather post files suggesting an option.
I'm limited here, as I can't reproduce this, so perhaps tell me, can you manually set a preview? Does it survive the save and open process?
That would be an alternative, not a solution (at least not in the long run).
Can you see a preview in this file?
CV4_2025_drs_25_FIpr_01.c4dThank you for your time
Have a great weekend
