See texture in viewport

I made an eye texture with Ramp and Layer. In the 3D viewport, the eye is completely black. Is it possible to preview my texture in the viewport? I'd like to animate the size of my iris with UV, but I can't see it as everything is black.

Is the
Editor View> Redshift> Start IPR
not working for your project?

I checked it with a Sphere and a Ramp to ensure it works (2025).

Is it possible to see the texture without using the IPR? The animation doesn't play in real time when the IPR is activated.
