Viewport render
-
How can I render my viewport without textures?
I am testing a quick animation with the Viewport Renderer but all textures are visible. -
Hi Dutchbird,
I checked 2026.0
You could add the Effect> Overwrite Material to it and leave the Material field as is–empty.
This works in Redshift, Physical, and Standard render. You can also set up a preview render quality in Redshift
Use Unified Sampling> Threshold 1.0 (or even 10) and switch off Global Illumination (of course, no Motion Blur nor DOF/Bokeh effects). The Viewport Render appears to have issues simply providing geometry. (I will file a report)
All the best

@Dr-Sassi Thanks. That Overwrite Material effect is a great option.
For now I just made a screen recording, another option

Thank you very much for the reply, Dutchbird.
I'm glad you find something that works for you.

Hi Dutchbird,
Sorry for the delay,
If that is something you need as before, the "Geometry Only" does not shut of the N~Q (Viewport, Options> Options> Materials).
Is that working for you?
Cheers

I found out I had the N~Q (Viewport, Options> Options> Materials) turned on in the render viewport and turned off in the current work viewport.
So problem was all on my side. -
Hi Dutchbird,
Thank you for your reply. My personal take is that if a command or option specifies Geometry Only, I would expect only Geometry to be on. Materials are not Geometry. So your question was spot on, and not a problem on your side, IMHO. I have addressed this internally in my report. To get to that state should be one click, not two menus.
Thank you very much for your patience in that matter.
Have a great weekend.
