when using a spherical field as a mask for the explosion, I'm getting unusual results. When the pieces of exploded cloth approach the edge of the spherical field, they kinda "snap* back toward the center, like it's colliding with the spherical field. I can't get a nice natural fall to the floor.
I've messed with numerous settings including the spherical field size and parameters, my simulation substeps/collision passes...can't seem to fix it.

Thanks for the great tuts!

Hi andy-dv,
I have not your file here; perhaps then I could be more precise. 9If it doesn't fit into the 1MB size here, please only Dropbox, Google, Apple, Adobe or Wetransfer cloud services. I will not touch anything else, as well not "tiny-URL" stuff. Thanks for understanding.
I do not answer from memory, as things might change from version to version, and I need to see a file before I can say something. Otherwise, it ends up in a guessing game, which I consider a waste of your time and not professional from my side to do.
Please have a look here; it is cached, so if you would like to explore it, clear the cache of the Cloth (Simulation) Tag.

Instead, I have tried to reproduce this.
The only time I had something that looked like bouncing back was when the Vertex Tags had the "Use Deformed Point" left checked. One suggestion: the field option in the Force field is one way. A similar (not identical, as it depends on the setup) way is to mask the field in the Object field.
I hope that helps
All the best

@Dr-Sassi Unchecking "Use Deform Point" fixed the issue. Thanks very much for your assistance
