    Hi,

I've spent the weekend looking for a plugin that can project a parametric spline much like the built in shrinkwrap deformer, but in a parallel direction onto other geometry, which the shrinkwrap deformer doesnt do.

I know I can use the project function, but this is destructive, and I need to keep it parametric.

I found a couple of plugins, but these do not work for R25. One was MagicProjector, I forget the other.

Is there a paid/free plugin that does this?

    Thanks

      Hi ship-complex,

You posted this in the Site Issue forum.

      What do I miss?

The only idea that comes to mind is to use the Surface Deformer.

      All the best

        Hi.
I had no other option to post a topic in the other forums?? I've confirmed my email, anything else I should do?

Anyway, as Im here on Cineema right now, the Surface Deformer wont project a spline, and if I turn it to UV mode, it totally messes up the size and proportions of the spline.

I just need something to project in a planar projection so that my splines stay exactly the same size, albeit folling the surface. Shrinkwrap doesnt work either.

the project spline points does work, but its destructive, and my surface changes, so I need to keep it parametric

        Any Ideas, thanks

          Hi ship-complex,

Please open a new thread in Site Issue Forum, and have only your access problem as them in it.

I will move this soon to the Q&A forum.

Here is an example with the Spline Projected.

I have no other idea. Perhaps Rocket Lasso has something; eventually, give him an email.

          All the best

Im interested in this topic as well, parametric poin projection plugin by fwilleke80 github was great but only supports up to R23, 2023 is not supported 😞

              Hi drama-comfortable,

Have you explored the UV projection setup that I have shared above?

Perhaps, send him an email, and check what his/her plans are to update the plug-in.

I rarely make plug-in suggestions for the very reason that they might be faster EOL than one get really used to those. No question some are excellent.
