Name Animations (glb)
-
Is there a way to name multiple animations? Needing to create multiple animations and export as a .glb. I need to specificy the names so developers can trigger animations at different times. I know how to do it in blender, having a hard time with c4d trying to do this. Any one have a clue?

Hi FUSER,
Quite frankly, I don't know how to test this. I would go with the Take System. Ignore for that the Main Take.
To my knowledge, Blender can read this format, so you have the option to test this.
A while ago, this was also done via Takes, but the export was based on FBX, with Takes first. Easy to roundtrip test this with Cinema 4D.
Perhaps use the FBX as a backup.
I noticed that the Manual about this format is instead handled without love. I will check if we can improve that. Sorry about this. All the best

Thanks for your reply. Yes it appears that currently, the only way is to export an FBX and then jump into blender and export from there. Blender uses NLA layers and the different animations stick when exporting GLB's.
Unfortunately, my final output needs to be .glb for a webAR project. I was hoping it would be something that I can do from within one application vs adding more processes to the workflow pipeline. From my research now, it appears that it's something that the Kronos group would have to update vs Maxon.

Thanks for the feedback, FUSER.
This is not fun, of course. I understand. I support your request here!
I have made another feature request about it. My first one was done when FaceBook enabled gltf. So, quite a while ago. Please use the Suggestion option, "Share Your Idea", to voice your needs here. Thank you very much!
