Cloner randomization

I'm making a bar chart out of dollar bills and coins. Project link here:

I want to use fields to wipe the chart in and out using a morph transform. I built unit blocks out of bills and coins, and staggered them into what I hoped would be a random arrangement, but I'm not having much luck using effectors to distribute the coin blocks and bill blocks in a true random arrangement. And the clones are becoming unmanageable - very hard to manipulate. I think I've gotten lost in the woods...
Then it occurred to me - this might be why there's a Matrix object? I've spent way too long going down this rabbit hole and I don't want to go down another one without some indication that I'm on the right track.
Would the matrix object let me create a bar chart design from truly random blocks of coins and bills - and then transform them with fields?

Hi fordmar,
Thanks for the file and for using Adobe cloud-services.
Please have a look here.
CV4_2023_drs_23_MGmp_01.c4dI would suggest using simple geometry to get things done quickly during setup. Then later, swap it out.
The MG-Matrix is typically an idea to create a structure or have information available to be used with deformers, while the clones should not deform.
Of course, with Redshift 3D, you can turn any MG-Matrix information into objects.Let me know what works and what doesn't.
Cheers

How is it that you can put a link in a post directly rather than going out to Google Drive or Adobe to download? I thought Cineversity allowed only ZIPs. New day?

Hi fordmar,
I asked for the option to use "c4d', and we got a little over 1MB as the max upload. Zips are banned, as they can contain malware.
Use the letter icon on the right, near the image.
