I am still using Cinema4D R19 to open older files and save them to use in R2024.
But recently I upgraded my Os to Sanoma and now the interface is messed up.
    What can I do?

      Hi Dutchbird,

I see that as a valid point to keep as a converter. The icons are gone, but are the Main Menu entries also not working for you?

Can you open the older files and save them with a new name? (Which can be all done with shortcuts.)

I have written to the Director of Global Support to address this.

I had to get some old installers buried in many Pelican cases from my backup archive to load those on an M1 iMac that runs Sonoma. It won't start.
If one needs a bridge between older files, keep an old Mac somewhere, which is a tip that the Meyers (After Effects) gave a decade ago.
(Like trying to open some old Quick Time files on a new OS, no way.)

      All the best

@second-prior your question is off topic. Maybe you can post a new question. My question was about R19 and the new macOS.

Yes, Dutchbird, you are correct. We don't mix questions to keep each thread readable, and we do not encourage jumping into someone's thread with a new theme.

Thanks for the support while it was night here.

I will take care of it. Thank you

Now for some reason R19 doesn't startup at all. I am getting an application error.
It is time to take the dust of an old iMac and hope R19 is still on it.

              Hi Dutchbird,

I'm sure you remember the Meyers (After Effects writers and Motion Graphic gurus). They told me they archive old computers to run previous OS and AE versions on them so older client projects can be worked on without stress. That was a long time ago before they left L.A.

But I think it is a valid idea; hence, I keep laptops as they are in a box. (Lately, this tip helped me open a video done in a Sorenson Codec—nothing the current OS can handle.

So, take care of the old iMac; it might be more valuable than it seems.

              My best wishes.
