Yes, back in the days with those Oil projector light shows, those were the days.
And exactly what I want to do!
I have a close look at your example and get back to you.

      Regards,
      Pim

        Thank you Pim.

Please let me know if there are any other ideas or directions we should explore.

        Enjoy your project

@Dr-Sassi Now I want to add another object, here a sphere, and let the two textures mix.
I see various options to 'mix' the textures:

          • animate the transparency of the objects / textures
          • use the proximal shader
          • feather the object. For example the sphere texture is too sharp
          • add transparency in 'areas' of the textures

Here an example of an extra sphere with an vibrate and transparancy in the texture.

          Here the scene file
          cv4_2025_drs_25_rsoa_02.c4d

What do you think is th best method to 'mix' the textures and could you give an example?

          Regards,
          Pim

            Hi Pim,

My vision for something like that might be completely different than yours. What is your target with that? What do you like to express or achieve? Where is this shown?

            Some pointers:

            • You can use another Maxon Noise as Mask - source

            • Feather or Displacement would be my question

            • There is no Proximal Shader in Redshift; this might be more something about Vertex Values.

We will get so into a different theme, and I would think that should be in a new thread. Mixing follow-up questions that move in a different direction can be difficult to follow after a while, especially if the initial idea or question is mixed in from time to time.

Besides, perhaps explore Liquids now; when you asked the first question, I was not allowed to talk about it, but that would be the next level from my point of view

I want to create those 'old fashion lighth shows' for a music video, initially.
And perhaps later on for the live shows.

I am not sure with what you by 'a new theme'., my main theme is how to 'mix' textures?

Liquids looks great, but I did not find yet, how to mix texture using Liquids.
I know Houdine is capable of doing this, so I guess Liquids will be able to do the same.
Could you make me an example?

I will explore Liquids and your other options (noise as mask, feather or displacement and Vertex values) in more detail.

              Thank you,
              Pim

                Hi Pim,

Here is a different way to produce some old light show effects, perhaps a late '70s feel.

I hope they hold some ideas for you.

                All the best

                  Beautiful effects!
I will try to combine them using Maxon Noise as Mask.
                  I will post the results.

                  Regards,
                  Pim

Thank you very much for the feedback, Pim!

Here is a (very) quick fluid example. Needs more work. Increase the mesh resolution (segments) for a finer result.
                    CV4_2025_drs_25_RSpc_11.c4d
It needs a little bit of time; render it and use the result perhaps as texture.

                    Enjoy
