Hi smckenzie,
Yes, yes and yes.
Sounds like my own list of things.
There was something we couldn't fight with the old Forum's software, at least not in time. So it needed to be closed down.
This has caused a lot of time investment to shuffle thousands of tutorials to the new site.
This was not planned, and we would have loved to invest the time in a better functionality instead.
For now, I hope my time stamps help everyone to find things faster on YouTube. I started out doing them live in real-time, only to see that I had to go through them again, to be precise. They are twice the running time to do if I also do a QA on each part and take notes about educational things.
I can't tell what will improve or when. I have some concepts in mind, but we have 10K of videos under the Maxon One umbrella, which is not something one can shuffle around or just renew without a solid strategy.
So, I get your impression of where we are and all the problems it sadly causes, but it needs some time to do it right. I hope my work in the Forum limits a bit of everyone's frustration. I have carefully listened to everyone for the past 18.5 years that I run the CV Forum (Q&A). Rest assured; I have a good memory and nothing else in mind for Cineversity to have a great learning experience and project support as far as possible.
Live shows tend to be longer, but I get your point. Please keep in mind that not everyone is searching for a quick fix. The beginner series often has 90-120 minutes per episode and counts viewing numbers in the top area. There is no one-size-fits-all.
I know you have seen a lot over the years here, so I hope that helps to see that things are changing, and everyone is changing on their own, which might get out of sync naturally at one point. But I hope we have shown that we can adapt. Fingers crossed, with all we have learned from everyone, we get the next iteration to be more what is needed and wanted.
Thanks for your input.
Cheers
