In an empty scene I add a Mesh Primitive. Then I use the translate tool or type in values into the Coordinates the object moves twice the distance than does the objects axis.

    Is this correct behavior?

      Hi Greg,

Would you mind sharing a project file with a cube set to P.X 1000

So I can explore it. Thank you.

A new scene, with just a primitive, should not show that behavior if I understand the setup correctly.

      Cheers

        Here you go..

All I did was create the mesh primitive and set P.X. = 1000. You can see the axis is at 1000,0,0 but the object is at 2000,0,0

          Hi Greg,

I will file a report. It feels like the Points and the axis get moved.
When I make it editable, all is fine, indicating that nothing in the project file or other settings is broken.

When dragged into the Scene Editor, it works fine.

Perhaps use a standard Primitive Cube (Or what is needed) instead for now.

          All the best

            @Dr-Sassi
So, you see the problem on Windows as well. I had hoped it wasn't particular to MacOS or my installation of c4d. Now, I wonder why others haven't seen this.

            Cheers,
            Greg

              Hi Greg,

I assume most people, going by the 1000s of files I open yearly from external productions, I have not seen one that used the Mesh Primitive in production inside the Object Manager. Hence my suggestion is to keep going with the Standard Primitives for now.

I have never said that I use Windows.
I have used Mac for precisely three decades now. Besides a short exploration with an SGI 320 Windows NT system 24 years ago to produce Macromedia Director content, I stayed with Mac. (OK, before that, in the early '80s, I coded on a Commodore, but to call that a Computer… I don't know 😉

I have filed a report, and I can't tell you more right now. Sorry.

              All the best

                  Thanks, Greg,

Let me say this first, as I believe everyone needs to find the OS that fits their idea of producing content.
Not to start the old Win vs. Mac discussion from last century, of course.
After many years, I presume everyone got used to their OS, and I'm OK with that, just to prevent any endless arguments about it.

                  My personal take is:
I love to create and not think about the hardware and stuff; that's pretty much all. If there is a hiccup, it is muscle memory to fix it for me.
Well, and (bragging alert), I had the pleasure over many years to drive up to Cupertino and share some of my knowledge with the beautiful Graphic Senior Team there, which left me with even more loyalty than before. So I'm a lost cause if someone tries to convert me, 😉

I assume you enjoy it as I do, and I hope it stays that way.

                  Cheers
