Hi nothing-tennis,
Thank you very much for the files, and your patience with this. It is midnight here, and I will have a look in the morning into it.

Hi nothing-tennis,
For anyone reading along, the idea is to provide an evaluation platform that allows us to see what "pipeline settings" will work.
The Vector displacement uses Red, Green, and Blue as X, Y, and Z values, seen as a movement from a previously non-displaced position. Often, applications have a color pipeline that tries to get the best guess about the color management used. But more importantly, as you can see when you explore the SNormal map channels, these channels are mixed in various ways. So, whatever one app prefers might end up eventually in a disaster in another.
So, this diagnostic option helps to find out what works.
The procedure,
In ZBrush, Create Diagnostic Files.
Ensure the RS Object Tag has the "Enable Auto Bump mapping" disabled. (Typical Displacement set up in RS 3D)
I use the Tangent and 32bit/channel float as settings. This means that while my Project is set to ACES 2065-1, the File IO is set to RAW.
UV and Normals: Smooth option. My result: 25 is the closest to a sphere.
This data is then placed into ZBrush.
Preferences > Importexport > FlipAndSwitch as well as Tangent FlipAndSwitch to this value.Which sets the pipeline for the render engine that was used.
All the best

Hi,
thanks for taking the time!
Unfortunately i dont get a round sphere (C4D 2024.2.0, ACES 2065-1, the File IO is set to RAW, RS Object Tag has the "Enable Auto Bump mapping" disabled. UV and Normals: Smooth option, do you mean the Phong Tag ? Maybe you could share the scene file. Thanks! -
Hi nothing-tennis,
Sorry that you have trouble.
I got weird results while the Displacement scale was anything but 1 and 1.
Is that helping?
I just have set it up again just now and compared it with the file from the post above
