Thank you for the help.
Have a nice day!!!!
Thank you so much for taking time to look at this.
...But it needs to react like a chain - not a solid.
So it is attached either end, and the middle part falls to the ground - like a chain.
I can create a cloner with normal loops on and add dynamics if I was building from scratch but the model I have is a .STEP file, the geometry is terrible
So, I guess the shorter question would be - how do I make this solid object bend and react like a chain??

Howdy. I have a .STEP *solidworks file in which I need to make the chain react using dynamics. It will have two end sections at each end to pin, and the chain must fall to the ground plain as a normal chain would.
The issue I have is, when I have found tutorials on rigid body dynamics for creating chains, they all use a cloner and make the standard chain shape - simple shapes of multiple tori - *Yes I groked the plural hahahaha.
As this is essentially 3 solid objects which have been made to create this unique chain shape, I'm having challenges with it.
Any ideas anyone?
Very nice.
Thank you very much for the help.
Truly appreciated!!!
Have a nice day.
Basic geometry question. I am try to boole out a shape, but when I add a suddivision it creates a hole.
When I add lines to help with the geometry I keep getting the hole, not the part I want cut out.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong guys?
Dr. Sassi.
Super helpful!!!!
You didn't need to attach screenshots - you didn't need to attach an actual C4D file...
But you have!!!!!!
Brilliant. Thank you very very very much.
Have a nice day!!!!
Hi y'all.
Need a little Cinema4D animation help please.
I have a model that has been aligned to a spline and set to tangential.
Once the position has been keyframed the model follows the path as expected.
What I need to do is be able to rotate the model on the other axis points - So, if I want the model to rotate left and right or forwards and backwards (pitch & yaw) as it continues along the position of the spline.
I have tried adding a Rail path, but this doesn't give me the effect I need.
I have Googled it and Youtubed it... Not very helpful
Any ideas???
