Banner Rotation Issuesposted in Question & Answers
Hi all,
I am trying to recreate the attached reference of the banner/ribbon but have run into an issue that I could use some advice for please

I can get so far with the shape but cant seem to control the right hand side in terms of matching the lefts rotation of the geometry. The yellow highlights what i'm after for the right

This is the setup. I'm using a plane with a spline wrap

I've also attached the c4d file so anyone who has a solution can see the setup. banner.c4d
Thought this would be simple and it probably is but I'm a bit stumped. Any advice or help on this appreciated. Thanks

RE: Particles looks different when rendered at high resolutionposted in Question & Answers
Thanks Dr Sassi for the detailed explanation. Really is an eye opener on some things I never even thought about. I'll have a play and see what I can come up with.
Most appreciated

RE: Particles looks different when rendered at high resolutionposted in Question & Answers
Hi Dr Sassi, I think I know what you are explaining. Is the way to counter this to simply make the particle size bigger or any other method?
I've uploaded the file to dropbox along with a render at 1500px and one at 9000px for reference.

Particles looks different when rendered at high resolutionposted in Question & Answers
Hi Dr Sassi and all,
I'm having an issue with the particle system that I need advice on please.
I have custom objects within the RS tag that make the glitter. When rendered at lower res it has a different look to the high res where the particle look a lot smaller and the streak effects look different too which is not what I want
Is there something I'm missing?

RE: Particle Swirl Vortexposted in Question & Answers
Hi Dr Sassi. Was having those issues using follow spline. Thanks for the tips, really helpful to see the workings. Had a play with 31.c4d by changing the size of the emitters mid animation that seems to create the crescent shape on the tendril.

Say I wanted to have the particles small towards the beginning and end of the spline and big towards the middle. I've used a data mapper to give size variation to the particles using age. Is this the best way to do this with particles along a spline?

Particle Swirl Vortexposted in Question & Answers
Hi Dr Sassi,
Was wondering if you knew of a technique to create this swirl/vortex like effect please. I've done a few attempts but can't seem to get that shape on the tendrils where it starts of thin, puffs out and then thins out again.

Swirl.c4dThanks in advance

Thank you Dr Sassi. Most helpful, i'll take a good look at the files and see how I get on. Thanks again V

RE: Liquid Particle Flowposted in Question & Answers
No problem Dr Sassi, thanks for getting back to us and sending the scenes
Primarily it would be a still with a view to animating later down the line a bit like the attached. A shooting liquid like flow that has particles flowing out.

Liquid Particle Flowposted in Question & Answers
Hi all,
Was wondering what would be the best way to recreate the image. A smooth liquid like flow that morphs into particles/glitter. Does anyone know of a tutorial/course or advice on what the best technique would be to tackle this?
Looks like one sim where the liquid changes as it flows or could be 2 sims?

Thanks and any help appreciated.

@Dr-Sassi Thanks for the info. Appreciated you took the time to get back to us.

RE: Granular Stack/Pile Methodposted in Question & Answers
Thanks for taking the time to look at this. I'll have a good play around and get upto speed with this.
One question I had though is there any way to delete some particles manually once you are happy with the sim? I know the destructor mod does this but it's a bit clunky with just being a box. Is there a way to brush/delete particles out?

Camera Lens Effects Outputposted in Question & Answers
Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to output the camera lens effects such as bloom and streaks as a separate render? I've looked at a few AOV tutorials online and can't seem to find if it's possible.
Is this doable in C4D?
Thanks

Hi Dr Sassi,
Not to worry. I took a look at the links you sent which were super helpful.
Thanks

Granular Stack/Pile Methodposted in Question & Answers
Hi all,
For reference I am trying to create a glitter image where the glitter is concentrated and quite stacked close to the core but disperses the further out it goes. (ref attached)

When I use an emitter with custom objects in the red shift tag none of the particles seem to stack on top of each other. What would be the best solution to try to create this effect.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Dr Sassi,
I understand now. The method I was using was faking the discs as opposed to really simulating the objects. Thank you for advising, really appreciated.
Thanks

Simulations - Emitter Objects Collisionsposted in Question & Answers
Hi all,
I've been using the new simulations system in C4D 2024. I setup up a simple particle system and in the RS tag that I placed on the particle group I have changed the particles to custom objects which are these discs. However they seem to not hit the floor entirely disc.c4d-error as you can see in the render view. Can anyone please advise what I may be missing?
I've attached a screen shot that show the issue along with the project file . Any or advice appreciated.

Thanks
Vijay
