Fur, as far as I'm aware, isn't in the data Cinema 4D provides to Redshift. Here, the Hair option needs to be used instead.
I would suggest limiting the Segments of the "Guides" and "Hair", and setting Hair> Dynamics > Rigid after the Initial state is "recorded".

Since Hair works, it should be possible to get Fur working, but it needs more input. Please use the "Share Your Ideas" so that the need for that is more clearly seen. Thank you very much.

Even Hair is easy to set up, it can go relatively deep, and yes, the application is mostly parameter-driven when one excludes the Styling tools. In other words, the number of parameters and tabs doesn't support a lot of intuitive handling; what is possible needs to be known. The content mentioned below puts a great deal of light on that subject.

I do not have your project here, so I can set one up here and guess your parameters and resulting shapes. In return, I produce something that might not work at all.

If you have "Square" set in the Generator, the number of Segments will change the outcome dramatically.

Yes, the Polygon Reduction shows only results when the geometry breaks apart.

Try the Remesher; At 10%, I get 30% fewer polygons with questionable results—no idea what you have on your end. Share on Polygon hair; I don't need the full project.
From there, I can do more.

Perhaps, a Volume based solution will work, but again, it depends on the shape of the overall result you like to create for export.

The Matrix-Scatter is a comfortable way, a mixture of Matrix and RS-Tag (Redshift Object Tag).

The key problem would be that the Polygon where the Root is will be lifted. Hence the results look somewhat chaotic.
If you could connect the points of the hair instances with the "main body", then the Polygon would be inside of it. Meaning you have three polygons sharing a single edge. This will not provide excellent results.
There is, of course, the idea of having two "main bodies" animated in the same way, preferably via PLA.
With this, one would have the Root information, and the other would receive the results. However, the Hair instances are generated, and I'm unclear on how to combine them and have those working with SDS.

Hence my suggestion with the Joint Rig.
