Mograph and particals
-
I saw a tutorial on the Internet to dissolve a text using Mograph (matrix and cloner) and that works fine.
But now I want to control the 'particals'. For example fall to the ground (using Gravity?).
Could you please show me how to do that?

Hi Pim,
To effectively work with particles, there is a little learning curve, but (IMHO) worth it.
Please have a look here
https://cineversity.maxon.net/en/series/particles-overview?tutorial=00-particles-overview-introduction
And here
https://cineversity.maxon.net/en/series/particles-objects-settings?tutorial=01-particles-objects-settings-basic-emitter-emission-tabTo go deeper, the Demystify Post Production series (currently running) shares deeper insights.

Great, thank you.
I will be busy looking and learning this weekend.
I will let you know my progress. In the scene file you send me, some plugins are missing:
Particle Group, mesh emitter, stick and collide.
But perhaps I will find these plugin described in the tutorials,I am using R2024.0.2

I started to look at the tutorials and one of the things I see, is that I have an old version.
I upgraded to R2024.5.0 and now the plugins are there. -
Thank you, Pim, for updating your forum's thread.
Enjoy exploring the new Particles.

@Dr-Sassi I am beginning to see the light!
I have now a text that is dissolved and particles are emitted.
However, particles are emitted from all polygons.
Only the polygons that are 'dissolved' should emit particles. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Pim,
Please have a look here:
https://stcineversityprod02.blob.core.windows.net/$web/Cineversity_Forum_Support/2024_PROJECTS_DRS/20240520_CV4_2024_drs_24_PAdt_01.c4d.zip
The second Linear Field IS set to a Remapped Curve Field.
As a Child of the Linear FX field, it moves as its parent. In this way, only where the letters dissolve particles show up.
I have set up a new Text Object with Delauny Caps, which I hope will deliver better results for you.
All the best

@Dr-Sassi Sorry, I do not fully understand.
I tried to recreate the setup, by replacing your 'Linear Field.Particles' with my own Linear Field.
But that does not work.
The text is 'hidden', but no particles are generated?I think I use the same setting as in your 'Linear Field.Particles',
but apparently one of the settings is wrong.
But which one?PS I tried to upload a picture and a scene file, but I get below errors.
The jpg file is 90kb and 443x800.
The scene file is 1500kb. If I make it a zip file, I get a invalid type error?

Hi Pim,
Thanks for the effort. Images can be a maximum height of 500 pixels. Files in c4d format (no zip) can be uploaded directly if they are not larger than 1 MB.
Please note that I touch only DropBox, Google, Apple, Adobe, or Wetransfer cloud services; please avoid shortening the URL or Zip files. Thank you. Here is a one-minute clip that showcases the idea of the Linear Field setup of the curve.
https://stcineversityprod02.blob.core.windows.net/$web/Cineversity_Forum_Support/2024_Clips_DRS/20240521_Curve_Field.mp4Please let me know if that helps.

@Dr-Sassi Oke, I will limit to height of 500 pixels and scene size of 1 Mb.
Another thing I noticed is that my version is not working because the new second Field was not added to the Polygon Selection Tag of the Text.1 object.
After adding it, it worked.
I do not fully understand why this is needed?PS I also noticed that I have to update my knowledge on fields.

Hi Pim,
In the scene, you have two needs: Progressively vanishing polygons and producing particles only on the event horizon when polygons disappear.
In the first half of the screen capture, I show what happens if that is not limited to the particular line.
In this way, two Fields take over each of the needs.
The one for Particles is used in the Polygon Selection to define where the Surface Emitter should produce new particles.
Example
CV4_2024_drs_24_PAme_01.c4dLet me know if that helped.
