Yes, the time difference is there, and it is a more than "noticeable" one. Of course, the engines are different, and how they apply, for example, displacement.

I'm not sure if I can find more than reducing the time to a 1/3rd, but of course, that is always project dependent. Perhaps exploring increasing the Samples to a very high number might help.

If I get the direction where it has to go right, the need would be to have a visual time scale option that provides a loose resemblance to the timeline.
The key component to consider here is, of course, that the whole setup stays intact when the frame rate needs an adjustment for different markets or targets.

I have seen it from time to time, no idea what it causes, but since I do not use double-click a lot (I work mostly from a tablet), I drag the files on the icon in the dock. So, I'm not the one with the most experience with double-clicks anymore. Besides, if the file is a fake file, it might open something else (Yes, pure neurotic, based on too much security training that I have to take. 😉

If you render something out, either and B&W image or an alpha/mask image of that anyway, please try the Vectorizer. It is in the Menu that leads with the green SDS icon.

When I overlay the particle flow as it comes from the emitter with a cached version turned into an Alembic (while the Alembic is one frame ahead, so I offset it, as I settled the streams in P.Y to show where they are, see image. it is the same.
