Images taller than 500 pixels will not show up.
What I would need is a project file reduced to the problem. If below 1MB, it can be attached here as a c4d file.

I created a little gap, inverted it, and used the Thicken generator to create good visibility.
As you mentioned, it is a background object, so the view is from the side rather than the top.

The mask is smaller, so it can hide the ripple.
The Offset of the Spline Curve moves it then inwards.

A solid handle is not an option to apply on an Alembic ballon simulation, as the handle would influence the initial results before the baking into Alembic.

Yes, that is a good summary from the other threads.

I assume this Pepsi campaign clip was initiated by Goodby, Silverstein & Partner, the "Got Milk?" people. (A while ago, I took a course provided by the two founders; this was very exciting.) Perhaps you know more about it; if so, please share.

I screen-captured the clip and explored it. My first thought was, do they take only one animation and repeat it while setting the key colors differently? There are slight differences in each, so I worked on something easy to adjust to get similar splashes. Please explore the Posemorph Sliders. Pose.0 is for the main chance, and Pose.1 is for the little movements to keep things "fluid."

As far as I understand what you like to do, here is a suggestion. (Storyboards are more the way to share those ideas; words are always a basis of interpretation)

Each shape is stored in a Spline, which is part of the Blend settings of the Cloner. The Plain Effect drives the progress of the Blend> Modify Clones.

The Null sets the main motion, the Plain effector, and then the "morph" defines the change of each shape over time.

Here is a quick demo:

I used the Mesh> Move> Magnet Tool to shape the "subframe-spline".

The best base to get very fast with this is to study Rotoscoping. In a nutshell, it separates shapes into forms with the least amount of change and moves them from the "keyframe" (the point of main change, PSR).

Besides the Cloner, the PoseMorph Tag might be the way to go. The Point-level Animation (PLA) seems more accessible for the first run-through but becomes increasingly difficult to adjust.
