The size of the animation is quite high. Over the past three+ decades of doing or supporting ArchViz, I have not gotten anyone to do a 7500x1800 pixel animation. Given that even a few years ago, 8K - UHD was only possible with a lot of tech tricks, no wonder. (Yes, 1800 is not 8K-UHD)

Since I have zero data from you, the only thing I can say is check with them. If you can easily do these animation resolutions with others, I'm glad you have a working pipeline and can share the results with tech support.

Even though I have 8K practical equipment, my understanding is that any Bayer pattern needs to be downsampled. Hence, I have only a 6K HDR monitor here. My experience with 8K UHD is practically zero, as I have no monitor here that can represent a reference 1:1 pixel ratio. This means I have not tested how my CPU/GPU would handle it.

I would be interested in who is requesting it. During this week's Global Maxon Summit, one of the world's leading teams presented ArchVIZ, but 8K UHD was not mentioned. So, please share a link. I would love to see it (even if I'm maxed out with my little 6K XDR Apple screen).

Of course, I will explain that.

The FX ModNode is the Modulo function. It divides the input by the number provided (Divisor) in the node and outputs the remainder only. In case above the Fraction object is set to "Explode and Connect" which provides each "ring" as an object with its own ID number..

This number is then provided in the User Data Node. When you click on the User Data node, there is a Preset with some standards Redshift RS MoGraph MG User ID (RSMGID). This could also be USER Data on an Object; then, you must type its name there.

So, the User Data provides an ID, typically starting with zero and then counting up: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.

To switch two colors, we need to run the Color Switch using 0, 1, 0, 1, 0, 1, etc.

Let's take ID 3 and use the entry (Divider) 2, which means 3 divided by 2 = 1.5. For our needs, it can be divided one time and have a remainder of 1. If we do the same for ID 4, then we divide 4 by 2 = 2. It divides two times and has no remainder, meaning the result is zero.

The Module node is often used to turn progressively counting sequences of numbers into smaller loops. It takes only color 0 and color 1.

If the divider were three, then you would get three colors, as the remainder would be 0, 1, 2.

Why does the ID number start with zero? In the past, computing was expensive, and every part of each binary needed to be used; hence, everything typically starts with a zero.

Please let me know if that was clear and if you have changed the number to something else and got different results, hence why the file has all ten fields set with color; typically, they are all white, but I hope it invites you to explore.

Well spotted; thanks for sharing. Yes, that makes sense. While I do not know the scene, strong light gets bounced more often before it is considered "unnoticeable." Each bounce causes calculations, while the tone-mapping might cover the initial bright light-up.

Copying and pasting the data into a new file is always a clever idea. When something feels weird, however, check the cache path.

In one setting, you are in ACES (2024); in the other, you are in sRGB (2025). In the 2025 version, the default is sRGB. But there is ACES tone mapping set up. I am not on my computer, as I am this week at the Maxon Summit. Tone mapping means, to get greater values than 100% into the file (even if they don't exist!), the space for them is created by squeezing the 0-100% values and creating some space for them. Hence, the initial 100% is lower. Please choose what you need. But just sRGB as render space and ACES used here as tone mapping sounds wrong, going by your target.
I am back next week, and I will look into it. Sorry for the delay. (Typically I answer even during my time off, but this week is packed, of course all to make everything better.)

I am not on my computer as I am visiting the Maxon Summit this week. So I have to do what I think is not the best way to do it—guessing. Sorry about that.

Having a whole scene (or a larger group) in a Boole might not work when one part is not ready for this.

Take the most complete object and test if a cube can Boole it. Perhaps with the group either under a Connect Object or Booled first, or even merge all first. Those three might hold one option to explore further.

Please note that Multi Instance might be source of trouble here, if the Cloner is set to this.

When I overlay the particle flow as it comes from the emitter with a cached version turned into an Alembic (while the Alembic is one frame ahead, so I offset it, as I settled the streams in P.Y to show where they are, see image. it is the same.

Hi there,

Remember that OCIO is a framework that is supposed to be installed centrally or in synch with the workflow provided, and OCIO is updated occasionally. This means OCIO, old or newer, is perhaps not the same as the installed one! It can't find the one defined in the file if a different version was used than the installed one.

Please always check the outcome. Typically, the use of ACES causes trouble if the RRT/ODT function is not understood for low dynamic/gamut outputs like REEC 709 or sRGB, which will show up especially with artifacts in 8bit/channel. Typically, the use is connected to wishful thinking about the filmic outcome, which changes if used for higher dynamic and larger Gamuts. Tone mapping or gamut compression is unnecessary, and the "filmic" effect [sic] is gone.

Setting the OCIO to your installation might not create the outcome envisioned by the external creator of the file.

Please check with support if you have a problem with a file created in your unchanged setup.
